hello everyone!
this distro is indeed a sleeper!! wow- exactly what i was looking for minimalistic, light, stable, and most important...Fast!! Really loved #! but couldn't get past an error on install bug with the CD rom drive. I tried many other distro's except most didn't offer non-pae support; Liked Bohdi but wasn't light did some researching and found this- The Install was a breeze- easily found my wireless card and quickly ran all the updates. My old Dell 600m has a whole new lease on life Cool

Glad to have found Stella!

Nice to have you here. I love this distro too, because it`s very stable and you don`t have to fear, that updates will wreck it.
But that`s also the reason for this very quiet forum. Laughing

Please type "lspci" in a terminal and you can see which ethernet-controller is in your DELL600M.
Maybe you need to install the driver for your card.

You can also use lshw with a gui.

It`s not painful.
Install "brcmsmac" with the PackageKit. The package is in the repos.
Maybe this one "tg3" works on Laptops.
Hope it works, I can`t test it.

So which kernel are you running?
Can you do a "uname -a"

Can you try installing http://mirrors.coreix.net/elrepo-archive-archive/kernel/el6/ i386/RPMS/kernel-ml-firmware-3.12.5-1.el6.elrepo.noarch.rpm and see if that fixes your issue?

The following is slightly risky, but worth trying:
rpm -e --nodeps kernel-firmware
yum install kernel-ml-firmware

Does it help?
