hi there, first let me thank for this great distro and repo.
i use centos as my only linux distro and nuxdesktop its a must.
a stella linux is always at my backpack too.
i just want to leave some tips here if people want to try it to improve they os.

first the documentation to people read.

2- what i tested and worked. easy install and most packaged installed work.

installation was easy.

curl | sh

will creat you a /nix folder and 2 folder in home directory .nix-defexpr and .nix-profile.

after install logout login.

now you can check here the repositories and the software avalable. ns. ns/networking/browsers

i tested some of graphics software and they all up to date and worked.

ok after install cd to /home/yourname/.nix-profile/bin

now the commands i used

nix-env -qa (to search package)
nix-env -qa gimp (will give you versions available)
nix-env --install gimp (wil install latest version)
nix-env -e gimp (will uninstall)
nix-collect-garbage -d (will clean all garbage installed).

a lot of recent software available, i tested some and worked.
kodi latest version is available but didint worked for me.

for my undestand this is a way to install recent software versions without breaking your system.

give it a try, a lot of good stuff to centos os.

ps;i use linux for long time, but most simple stuff, and this was very easy to make it work here at my computer.

example images installing latest shotwell on centos 6.6.

Thanks keep the great work.

Hi luta,
thanks for sharing too.
I can confirm it.
I`m testing NIXOS for a while and it seems to be a very good idea with the simple format of packaging and installing.
Very helpfully for all linux users. Smile

BTW, I think it`s the same way of using the packages of Mozilla, which running out of the box on every Linux OS.
