hello again,

just got a new 4.2.2 jelly bean android tablet (cm10.1) and have been unable to usb connect it to my stella 64bit. stella connects fine to my older gingerbread 2.3.7 usb mass storage protocol, but the newer mtp doesn't seem to work.

i have libmtp-1.0.1-2.el6(x86_64) installed from the repo, but can we get a newer version 1.1? i found this link from my fedora forums research

http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=262051

http://www.adebenham.com/mtpfs/

any chance this can be compiled so i can repo it? thanks again.

Hello,

Sadly this is not possible. I've seen many complaints on the centos forums and mailing list, but there is nothing we can do for now, newer versions will not build on EL6. Wait for Stella 7. Smile

Also check https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id= 39977 which presents many workarounds of someone who has been through similar problems.

PS: what I do in my home is to use a samba share to exchange files (through ESexplorer or smth), not sure if this is listed as a possible workaround in the above url, just making sure it's mentioned.

OR (theoretically) you could enable USB tethering (if the phone supports it) and connect your laptop to it, see what's your gateway IP - that should be your phone.
