When I try to format or create a partition with gparted I get errors

here is an example

Saleem,

You can try
blockdev --rereadpt /dev/sda
to force the reload of the partition table.

Hi Nux,

thanks for the reply, forcing to reload the partition table would be an option but gparted is not doing its specified task assigned to it, dont you think gparted has some issue/bug?

Bugs? Nah, open source software doesn't have bugs, only features.. Smile

Seriously now, it's quite possible you've hit a bug. I remember encountering it as well, but when I asked parted to print the partition table it was fine, same good result with sfdisk, too.
I see EPEL is quite behind with the version of parted (2.1 vs 3.0), when I get some time I'll try to backport some newer stuff.
