The package manager gpk-application in CentOS7 appears to be broken. I tried installing yumex from nux-dextop.

yum --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=nux-dextop install yumex
...
...
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: yumex-3.0.15-1.el7.nux.noarch (nux-dextop)
Requires: pexpect
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Maybe your gremlins are around. I have tested it on Gnome3 / Mate and the package manager is working. Rolling Eyes

Yumex requires "pexpect" which is in Base which you disable. Don't --disablerepo=\* Smile

@Nux
Oh! Duh! Why didn't I think of that? Confused

I was trying to do something suggested on the Centos forum...

The yumex in EPEL for CentOS 7 appears to be permanently broken. However, there is a working version in nux-dextop.

I'll try disabling just epel.

Thanks

Update:
OK
That solved it. Worked great

Damn gremlins. Very Happy
If I could edit my first post it would say something like "Yumex from epel repo is broken" instead of "package manager".
Oh well ... Smile
