For some unknown reason the weather/temperature stopped showing in the panel clock area. Here's what worked for me.
Edit properties/location and select and remove location entry.
Then add it back and close
Then put the mouse in the lower right corner of the calendar drop down
A [Set] button appears.
Click it and enter your password.
The weather should show.
The set button then turns into a house.
