I am trying to update several machines running Stella 6.5 but everytime I do after a reboot the machine just sits on a cursor and I end up rebuilding.

Here is screenshot of what it looks like after a reboot and the updates I am trying to update.

Thoughts?

Ouch, what hardware is that?

After a reboot, do you still see grub at all? If yes, press "e" at the grub kernel menu and from the vmlinuz (kernel) line remove "rhgb" and "quiet", this should give us some more information.

HP 6000 Desktop and no I get nothing. I've tried manually updating everything skipping kernel, X stuff, grub, grubby but still get that. I guess my next step is to update each package one at a time to figure out which one is causing my issue.

Or I could just blow everything away and rebuild with the 6.6 or 7 media (when it is available).
