Hi, on my Stella x64 desktop, I noticed that the screen saver never pops up, whatever the time of inactivity I leave it in. All settings are ok, so I wonder if anyone else has seen this on their machine, and what can I do about it?

Thanks

Yes, default Gnome 2.
I wonder if it might come from VLC being open, although idle. On other OS's, VLC being open and idle, or VLC being playing music, do not prevent the screen saver launch (only when VLC is playing a video will the screen saver be prevented from launching).
On Stella, if VLC is activated, even while being inactive (not reading music nor vids), it seems to prevent the screen saver/locker. Will have to confirm by further experimenting, but I think it is the reason.

I saw a similar feature in mplayer/smplayer, I wouldnt be surprised if VLC had something like this, check the preferences.
