Hello, my first post here. Since last update, Clementine has lost its ability to play MPC files (error popup "Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in."):
# yum info clementine
...
Installed Packages
Name : clementine
Arch : x86_64
Version : 1.3.1
Release : 1.el7.nux
Size : 16 M
Repo : installed
From repo : nux-dextop
Summary : A music player and library organizer
URL : Omitted as per forum limitations
Licence : GPLv3+ and GPLv2+
Description : Clementine is a multi-platform music player. It is inspired by
: Amarok 1.4, focusing on a fast and easy-to-use interface for
: searching and playing your music.
# yum info libmpcdec
...
Installed Packages
Name : libmpcdec
Arch : x86_64
Version : 1.2.6
Release : 12.el7
Size : 59 k
Repo : installed
From repo : base
Summary : Musepack audio decoding library
URL : Omitted as per forum limitations
Licence : BSD
Description : Musepack is an audio compression format with a strong emphasis on
: high quality. It's not lossless, but it is designed for
: transparency, so that you won't be able to hear differences
: between the original wave file and the much smaller MPC file.
: It is based on the MPEG-1 Layer-2 / MP2 algorithms, but has
: rapidly developed and vastly improved and is now at an advanced
: stage in which it contains heavily optimized and patentless code.
# uname -a
Linux host-xxx-xx-xx-xx.xxx.xxxxx.com 3.10.0-327.18.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu May 12 11:03:55 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

It used to work. System is up-to-date CentOS 7.

Keep up the great work,

giulix

P.S. I was trying to download the source RPM to see if there was a missing enabled option or something... but somehow it doesn't seem to be available:
# yumdownloader --source clementine
...
 * nux-dextop: li.nux.ro
...
No source RPM found for clementine-1.2.1-5.el7.nux.x86_64
No source RPM found for clementine-1.2.3-11.el7.nux.x86_64
No source RPM found for clementine-1.2.3-12.el7.nux.x86_64
No source RPM found for clementine-1.3.1-1.el7.nux.x86_64

What am I missing?

Hello,

Yeah, I am always afraid of stuff like this happening when people ask me to up the version of a package.
I do not know why Clementine does not play MPC anymore, perhaps the gstreamer in CentOS 7 is too old or something, I will need time (which I do not have) to debug this.

The SRPMs are not indexed in a repo, that's why yumdownloader fails, pick it manually from the repo.

If you manage to find a solution I am open to upgrading/rebuilding etc.

I have rebuild Clementine, can you try the following and let me know if it's any better? I don't have any musepack files nor do I seem able to find any online.

yum --enablerepo=nux-dextop-testing install clementine

Nope, doesn't work. Thanks, though. I'll look into it. Have to understand how Clementine uses gstreamer first and how gstreamer packages the various codec libraries... It's going to take time Smile

Update: Looks like gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free dropped support for MPC files (no idea why). I guess Clementine was using the previous version of gstreamer until recently and that is the reason why it breaks. Reported upstream. Sorry for the unnecessary noise.
