Hi Nux, I know this is a Stelle/CentOS forum, but since Fedora is a close relative, may I ask the following question:

I recall you provided us with a seeries of scripts to enforce the use of VLC on CentOS:
rpm -e --nodeps vlc-core vlc

sudo yum install 7.nux.x86_64.rpm

sudo yum install el7.nux.x86_64.rpm .6-2.el7.nux.x86_64.rpm

My question: how should these scripts be adapted so as to install that very same VLC version on Fedora 24 (except for the yum becoming dnf)?

Thanks in advance

I do not use Fedora so I can't tell, but the approach of using these RPMs on Fedora is certainly unorthodox, it's likely there are too many differences between the platforms to make this workable; like gcc versions and so on.

Feel free to try it though. The question is why? VLC from RPMFusion for Fedora should be ok, that's in fact where I source my VLC from. Smile
