This seems to be the best linux gui search tool that is also currently maintained that may be somewhat comparable to locate32 on Windows. Current repos I'm aware of don't provide recoll, though the website does have a couple rpms, it's not repo and I'm not sure if it's got all the dependencies or not. I'm also not entirely sure if it can be set via option to use inotify for changes or if it's just static indexes (which is ok by me, but options are nice)...

Hi,

Can you give this a try and let me know if there are any issues?

It installs fine, but every time I try and index I get an error that indexing failed. That may be a software bug though.

If you can point me to a patch or a version that doesn't have the bug, I'd be happy to rebuild some of these packages.

False alarm. It was running out of space for the index that made it crash. It works well. Thanks!
